Why "Baosabai"

In Thai it means light and at ease. We want everyone to walk out feeling lighter than when they walked in — not only looser in the body but clearer in the head. The name points to the air element, the thing you cannot see but can feel, and it is where the wave-like ribbon across the front of the building comes from.

We spend on what you cannot see

Sheets and covers are changed for every guest, without exception. Bathrooms and showers are cleaned on a rota throughout the day. Every tool that touches skin is washed and sterilised. None of this is visible from the reception desk — and all of it is why people come back.

The therapists are the whole thing

Our therapists are trained in traditional Thai massage and work supervised before taking guests of their own. Every one of them is taught to ask before applying pressure and to adjust the moment you say so. Nobody here works to a single fixed routine.

We did not start from zero

The team behind Baosabai already runs a premium spa in this town. The therapist training, the hygiene standards and the way guests are looked after all came across on day one — nothing had to be worked out on paying customers. What we set out to make different is the price and the rhythm: Baosabai is meant to be somewhere you drop into often, not a once-a-year treat.
